As a Japanese, I’m so sick of how my culture has negatively impacted an entire generation worldwide
This is something that haunts me every single day, as I hear the news in my country daily, of how the porn-sick men have sexually assaulted, raped and killed young girls and women trying to play out their sick porn fantasies. There was literally a man who got sentenced to life for raping more than 8 little girls, because he “wanted to try out what he saw on ‘lolicon’ manga”. So many of them say they wanted to try what they saw on porn.
You might think that geishas are cool and traditional. But then I just saw the news story of an ex-maiko (who are basically underaged geishas-in-training), who whistleblew to reveal that there is a serious underaged sexual exploitation, which one was where an underaged maiko girl who was forced to “serve” a customer sexually in the bathhouse, in which she got raped, got pregnant and was forced to have an abortion. The girl is now traumatized for life, but this is still normalized to this day and kept under the rug . My culture and East Asian culture in general is truly fucked up, and most people don’t even know the half of it.
I’m so disheartened and enraged to hear that non-Japanese these days casually talk about how they “whacked off to hentai” or “guro” or some other bullshit, pretending that it’s nothing to be ashamed of because it’s some “foreign/Japanese thing”. I’m so sick of them showing off some “hentai art” in real life, as if that’s not completely weird and socially cringe. They think that hentai are just this totally normal and accepted thing in Japan, when it’s not really. Hentai and guro are still considered weird and cringe in Japan, it’s just that a minority of weirdos are into them, in which they are overrepresented online. It would be like thinking furry porn are normal and acceptable in the West, just because some people are into them.
Still, we know how Japanese porn has ruined so many people worldwide. Not to mention all the “fanservice” bullshit in anime/manga culture, and how it has continued to normalized and make light out of sexual assault, rape and objectification of women. Japan is one of the most porn-sick countries in the world. The Japanese porn and prostitution industry is now ginormous, and they will fight tooth and nail to try to normalize porn and prostituting women. We had OnlyFans way before there was OnlyFans. Not just Japan but East Asia in general is very sick, when it comes to sexually objectifying women. That’s why you have so many weird pop culture contents from East Asia, mostly made by incel weirdos.
I’m so so so, sick, saddened and disheartened that all these “loli” and “guro” bullshit have somehow managed to spread outside of Japan, creating a whole generation of truly sick psychopaths and sexually degenerate weirdos, not to mention outright criminals.
Unfortunately, anti-porn voices are still a minority, and we get shouted down by so many pro-porn men, and get swarmed by thousands of them and get harassed and attacked for speaking up. There are only a few “feminist” women that speak out, which most of them are just your average women that are negatively impacted by porn and oversexualized society. You don’t even need to be a “sex positive liberal” in Japan, because being pro-porn is considered to be CONSERVATIVE. Not to mention all the weebs, gooners and some pro-porn men are copying their tactics of harassing and swarming any anti-porn voices.
So please, STOP refraining from criticizing Japan or East Asia on this aspect because you think it’s “inappropriate” or “racist” or some other bullshit. It’s not racist to call out on blatant misogyny, no matter what culture they’re from. Porn has negatively impacted the world enough. And women worldwide are taking the blunt of it. I’m really sick of how my culture is negatively impacting the entire world these days. It has truly ruined an entire generation. And I’m so sick of it. You just don’t hear enough voices criticizing all the pro-porn insanity from Japanese pop culture.
