Platforms does not delete suspended accounts for several reasons:
- Data Retention: Keeping suspended accounts allows Twitter to retain data related to the account, which can be useful for internal reviews, policy enforcement, and legal compliance.
- User Rights: Suspended accounts might belong to users who have the right to appeal their suspension. Deleting accounts before an appeal process is complete could violate user rights or lead to potential legal issues.
- Content Moderation: Suspended accounts may contain content that is relevant to ongoing investigations or may provide context for the enforcement of Twitter’s policies.
- Brand and Reputation: In some cases, having a record of suspended accounts can serve as a deterrent for other users who might engage in similar behavior, reinforcing commitment to enforcing its rules.
